One simple search that could surprise you

Hello Reader,

I came across something interesting recently that felt worth sharing.

Governments around Australia are encouraging people to check whether they have any unclaimed money sitting in state revenue offices — and apparently there are millions of dollars waiting to be claimed.

In Victoria, this can include things like forgotten bank accounts, unclaimed refunds, old rent or bond money, dividends, sale proceeds, and even uncashed cheques.

It only takes a few minutes to search the Victorian Unclaimed Money Register, and you might be surprised what turns up.

Enjoy your week,
Amy

P.S. Our new Explore Club tours are officially underway, with the first CBD tours running on Sunday and receiving a wonderful response from attendees. There are still a few spots available for our Bendigo Heritage & Growth tours on Saturday 6 June if you’d like to join us. Book here.

Let's Explore Melbourne and Beyond

Visit Machu Picchu in VR

Experience the wonder of Peru’s ancient ruins without leaving Melbourne.

I left this VR experience wanting to visit Machu Picchu in Peru, not just Melbourne! It offered such a compelling introduction to the site and revealed far more than the photographs I’d seen before.
I truly felt immersed in the sweeping panoramas in every direction. It was so realistic that I had to stop myself from instinctively reaching for my camera.

Hello Reader, It’s Amy here, I’ve been reading about the excitement around The Devil Wears Prada II lately, with Meryl Streep returning as the unforgettable Miranda Priestly — and it seems to be striking quite a chord with many people. Partly because it’s fun and nostalgic, of course. But also because we’re seeing more visible, confident older women on screen and in the workplace at a time when women over 50 are one of the fastest-growing groups in the workforce. One workplace expert...

Hello Reader, Aged care isn’t something most of us are rushing towards — but many are already helping a parent or loved one navigate it. That’s why this piece from our contributor Kaye caught my attention. Aged care: When it’s good, it can be very, very good She shares the story of her mum, who made a thoughtful decision to move into care more than a decade ago — a choice that led to 12 years of connection, dignity, and genuine community. What stood out to me is how much the experience was...
