Hello Reader, It’s Terrie here, So many of my friends tell me how they regularly meet up with family or friends in the city — and I recently did the same with my brother. We met at Federation Square and took a gentle stroll over to the Melbourne Recital Centre for a Mostly Mozart matinee, Mannheim to Paris. Musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music, alongside director Carla Blackwood, presented a beautiful hour of music bringing winds and strings together — just magnificent. Before the concert, we were treated to a complimentary morning tea, which made the whole experience feel even more special. Afterwards, we wandered back to Federation Square and enjoyed lunch at Chocolate Buddha — one of my favourites (and don’t forget, you can receive 10% off when you mention Seniors in Melbourne). Both of us are in our 70s, and this outing suited us perfectly. Everything was close to the station, easy to walk between, and very manageable energy-wise. It was such a joyful day — time with family, beautiful music, and a lovely meal in our wonderful city. If this sounds like your kind of outing, there’s another Mostly Mozart matinee coming up on 3 Sept, with more performances throughout the year. Warmly, P.S. Don't forget — our friends at Travellers Aid have their Trivia Night coming up on Thursday 13 August. A fun way to support their work while testing your general knowledge! If you're booking a ticket, pop "Seniors in Melbourne" under organisation so we can all be seated together. Can't make the trivia night? Their online auction is running right now until 13 August, with a range of experiences and treats up for bidding. Well worth a look. Read more here.
