Hello Reader, One year ago today, I sent out my very first newsletter for Seniors in Melbourne. Back then, there were just 25 subscribers (mostly friends and family!). Now, there are thousands of you who open these emails each week, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. What started as a way to encourage my parents, Chris and Terrie, to rediscover Melbourne has grown into something even more special. Not only has this community expanded, but so has my team of contributors—all retired (or semi-retired) who are just as passionate about exploring and sharing their experiences. One of my favourite things about writing these emails is hearing from you. I love reading your replies—whether it’s a story from your own adventures or a little tidbit that adds to what we’ve shared. So, keep them coming! And if you’ve been enjoying these emails, why not share them with a friend? The more, the merrier! Until next week, Amy
P.S. Comedian Daryl Peebles is bringing his show Stand Up for Seniors… but not necessarily on the bus to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (26 March – 6 April). While he’s in town, he’s also offering free presentations on The Value of Humour in Ageing to interested groups. If your Probus Club, U3A, Men’s Shed, or community group would like to host him, let me know, and I’ll pass on the details! WHAT'S ON - Mark Your Calendars

Each episode dives into important topics like health, creativity, and social issues, often with insights from influential guests like Lex Marinos and Perry. What I love most is how it encourages us to embrace this stage of life with confidence and purpose. It’s...

Hello Reader, Terrie here. Have you ever done something completely “on the spur of the moment”? Well, that’s exactly what my husband and I did last week, and it turned into an unforgettable adventure. It all started with a simple walk along Ocean Grove Beach to cool off after a hot day. The weather was perfect—22°C, blue skies, a soft breeze, and the calming sound of waves crashing on the shore. Way ahead, we spotted the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse and thought, “Why not walk all the way there?”...
