While he’s in town, he’s also offering free presentations on The Value of Humour in Ageing to interested groups. Silent Disco Walking Tour

Groove through Melbourne’s bustling streets, belting out disco classics

A group of about 30 seniors met at Federation Square. We all put earphones on through which you could hear great disco music and also the voice of Cat directing us as to what moves matched the songs we could hear.
We followed the leader and danced and sang our way through the streets of the City, ending up in front of Myers. It was such fun letting loose, not worrying about anything but the joy and laughter brought about by being in a crowd of people totally enjoying themselves.

A Night of Thrills, Suspense & Murder!

Step aboard the grand steamboat SUDAN, for an evening of mystery, excitement and intrigue!

We would never have thought of coming here, and we had such a nice time.
At 3 pm on a weekday, we practically had the place to ourselves. We headed outside to the balcony and admired the views across the Yarra river and down towards Southbank. While it was a little windy up there that day, plenty of tables inside offered the same vibrant atmosphere.
We found a cosy corner with very comfy armchairs and enjoyed a wind-down drink and snack after our big day of exploring.

Hello Reader, With Mental Health Awareness Week (12–18 May) upon us, I’ve been reflecting on how important it is to care for our mental wellbeing—especially during life changes like retirement. It turns out that staying mentally healthy doesn’t have to mean anything complicated. Things like keeping a routine, staying socially connected, and making time for regular movement can all make a big difference. I’ve found that retired or semi-retired doesn’t mean slowing down—it often means having a...

Dame Vera Lynn

Hi there Reader, It's Diane here. I hadn’t been to Chadstone in years — and wow, has it changed! It just keeps growing. You could easily spend a full week exploring it properly, especially with all the new food options. On my visit, I stumbled across a clever AI-powered recipe tool in their latest food precinct. With a little help from a very friendly concierge, I gave it a go. I’m coeliac, so I added that into the notes, chose Italian and salmon, and within seconds it had suggested five...

Titanic VR Experience

Hi there Reader, I recently had a brilliant afternoon at Playing Second Fiddle! It’s not often a show has the whole room beaming, but this one did — and then some. One audience member summed it up perfectly when they simply shouted, “Fantastic!” alongside the applause. And honestly, they weren’t wrong. Created by the talented Victoria Mantynen, Sincerely Yours is more than just a performance program. It’s a celebration of community, connection, and musical theatre. After the music, you’re...
