Hi Reader, If you joined us at an Australian Brandenburg Orchestra concert last year, you’ll know exactly why we’re smiling as we write this. Thanks to our partnership, many of you were able to attend Brandenburg performances in 2025 — and the feedback that came back to us was overwhelmingly positive. Time and again, readers told us how much they loved the intimacy of the performances, the warmth of the musicians, and the way these concerts made familiar music feel fresh and alive. So we’re delighted to share the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra 2026 season at Melbourne Recital Centre, and it’s a beautiful one. Throughout the year, we’ll be offering giveaways and an exclusive discount for our readers, making it even easier to enjoy the season. Below, you’ll find the full 2026 program, with dates and booking details. If last year was anything to go by, these concerts won’t stay secret for long. Warmly,

Seniors Card tickets are discounted on selected A & B Reserve seats only, which are premium seating areas. Because of that, the Seniors Card price can sometimes appear higher than Adult tickets in other sections. Once you select the Senior option and click through, you’ll be shown the discounted seats allocated to Senior pricing, which are cheaper than the regular Adult price for the same area. If you’re simply looking for the lowest-priced ticket, Adult tickets in the Circle & Wings can start from $45, and you’re welcome to book these even if you hold a Seniors Card. Pensioner tickets offer the lowest concession pricing overall, where eligible. Seniors Card pricing is also available on subscriptions — just select ‘Subscribe’ from the menu on the Brandenburg website and follow the prompts. If in doubt, the Box Office team are happy to help, call 1300 782 856.

Hello Reader, I’m really pleased to share a new partnership with Transport Victoria — all about encouraging more of us to get out and explore using public transport. The timing couldn’t be better. With free public transport across Victoria throughout April and May, many people are rediscovering just how easy it is to move around without the cost of fuel or parking. But here’s the part I think is worth holding onto long after May ends:Seniors myki holders travel free every weekend, year-round,...
Hello Reader, It’s Marjie here, With ANZAC Day coming up this Saturday, I’ve found myself reflecting a little more deeply this year. My father served as a navigator in the RAAF during the war, and later in life — in his late 70s — he wrote a poem after visiting Bomana War Cemetery in Papua New Guinea. It was the only poem he ever wrote, and it’s stayed with me ever since. More recently, someone from my camera club used AI to recreate his voice and read the poem aloud. Hearing those words...
Hello Reader, I was chatting recently with Trevor, who’s just retired, when our conversation drifted — as it often does — to day trips and longer drives. He’s always been someone who enjoys getting out of the city, whether it’s a run to Ballarat, a wander through Bendigo, or a longer road trip when the mood strikes. What surprised me was how naturally he talked about doing all of this in his electric vehicle. Trevor bought his EV a couple of years ago and says he’s never looked back. For...
