Let's Make the Most of Free Travel & Stand Against Ageism đź’š

Hello Reader,

We’re still buzzing from the amazing Celebration Day that launched the Victorian Seniors Festival in style! 🎉

It’s always wonderful seeing the city come alive with energy and excitement. And guess what? This week, your free public transport is here, so why not take full advantage and explore Melbourne and Victoria? There’s a huge range of fantastic events happening, and we’ve got all the details you need.

Today is also Ageism Awareness Day, an important campaign led by EveryAGE Counts to challenge negative attitudes towards older Australians. Each year, the Melbourne Town Hall glows green to shine a light on the devastating impact ageism has on our communities. Let's take a stand together! đź’š

Be sure to sign the pledge for a world without ageism and join the movement for change.

Let’s make the most of this week – whether it’s attending events, hopping on a train to explore somewhere new, or supporting a world that values older generations.

Enjoy the festivities and free travel!

Warm regards,
Amy

P.S. Let us know what events you’re getting out to this week – we’d love to hear how you’re making the most of the Seniors Festival! Just hit reply.

The contrast with the vibrant art outside the room was stark but I found this array of white blobs on a black background to be very moving.

This was “Let’s Shake”, an exhibition by artist and Palawa woman Karen Casey.

Now, there are thousands of you who open these emails each week, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. What started as a way to encourage my parents, Chris and Terrie, to rediscover Melbourne has grown into something even more special. Not only has this community expanded, but so has my team of contributors—all retired (or...

It’s a thought-provoking listen created especially for those navigating aging or even just contemplating what lies ahead. Each episode dives into important topics like health, creativity, and social issues, often with insights from influential guests like Lex Marinos and Perry. What I love most is how it encourages us to embrace this stage of life with confidence and purpose. It’s...
