What’s on your autumn bucket list?

Hello Reader,

There’s something special about autumn in Melbourne, isn’t there? The air gets that little bit crisper, the parks put on a show, and suddenly a cup of tea outdoors feels like a real treat.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the small things I still want to squeeze in before winter arrives — maybe a slow garden stroll, a midweek matinee, or finally trying that café with the courtyard seating everyone keeps talking about.

Our contributor, Kaye, recently captured this autumn magic so beautifully in her latest piece. If you're in need of a little seasonal inspiration, it's well worth a read. Find it here.

So tell me, what’s on your autumn bucket list? Whether it’s an easy day trip, a cosy high tea, or just a plan to sit somewhere pretty with a good book, I’d love to hear it.

Let’s make the most of this golden season in the city.

On a stroll along Collins Street I was delighted to find you could still buy second-hand books in modern Melbourne, but mostly in more upmarket establishments than I remember.
First, we visited the Athenaeum Club, which was a real surprise as I always thought of it as being “members only” exclusive. However, even non-members can now visit their library and – surprise, surprise – I bought a classic science fiction novel for only $2 from their re-sale table. A lovely find.
